Dogs, Canines and Pets Diseases

March 6, 2008

No matter how much we take care of our pets, we cannot assure that they will remain free from diseases. Some of the common diseases for pets are dog kidney disease, liver and dog cushings disease. It would be better if you learn about the common diseases that your pet can acquire to know what you can do for your pet if you see some symptoms. My dog Bronson had a dog liver disease just last month and he just stopped eating. I was so worried and rush him to the nearest pet clinic.

Of course, if you are not knowledgeable in pet diseases, the best thing to do is to consult a veterinarian. This way, you will be given a professional advice on what medicines to give your pet and how to take care of him so that he won’t acquire anymore diseases. It would also be better if you could regularly give your pets vitamins to boost their immune system and prevent things like dog kidney disease from threatening your pet. As the old saying goes: prevention is always better than cure.

Pet Lovers Unite

January 18, 2008

It is not known to all but when I was a child; I had a weird disorder which was a fear of being alone. This disorder was cured because of having a pet that was always there beside me. Gradually, I overcame this fear and I’m very thankful for my pet hamster. Well, now that I’m a fully grown person, I no longer have the fear but I still am thankful that the pet therapy that has cured me. Because of this, I’ve decided to join the free wikis program of WetPaint.com and create my own Pet Wiki.

This Pet wiki will give the basic information about different cute pets and how to take good care of them. Pets are also like human - they eat, sleep and feel. They also have emotions and we need to understand them. If all people who loves hamsters would create my own wiki about hamsters, we would include there things such as what to do when a hamster gives birth, what to feed your hamster and what to do when a hamster turns sick. This will definitely help people seeking such information.

the Best Pet

December 14, 2007

My friends and I have our own pets and we take care of them with our hearts. We used to just talk about them and brag about the amazing tricks that our pets can do. We don’t actually get to bring our pets when we talk about them but we sometimes bring pictures of them that are taken from our digital cameras. Everyone thinks that his or her pet is the best and that no one’s pet is above it. Sometimes I just can’t help but smile when I realize that we’re like parents talking about our babies.

Twice a month, I bring my pet dog to a pet parlor and have her bathe, have her hair cut, combed, and blow dried. Though it has just been two months since I had my pet, I want her to be good looking. Same as other pet owners, I think my pet is the best pet in the whole world. Well, I guess that’s but normal. Like people, every pet is unique in her own little ways and they also need proper attention and affection from their owners. So I guess there’s just no other best pet for a pet owner but his pet alone.

Husky

December 8, 2007

I own a Siberian husky its name is Tiger. My boyfriend gave to me two years ago. I really wanted to have a husky because they are very cute and rare. They are easily taught of some tricks and they are very fun to play with. But having this kind of dog in tropical climate is really a headache. They can’t stand the heat so you have to bathe them everyday with very cold water. Tiger is also very moody when he feels hot. So when my boyfriend came for a visit, I told him all the hard things about having Tiger. He told me about Home Automation Systems.

I decided to have one in my new place so that Tiger will feel cool. The system made the temperature in Tiger’s cage cold enough for him. It really gave a relief to me Tiger. After that Tiger was never moody and he always wanted play. And when my friends come and visit they are really amaze about him. They always tell me that he is so cute. Now my boyfriend and I are planning to get another husky so that we can breed and sell some of them.

Blue’s Allergies

Lizella has three Salukis. These breed of dogs are called sight hounds. They have long legs and are very fast and agile. They really are also very cute dogs. Liz always brings her dogs anywhere she goes or where she is assigned. She loves her dogs so much. She even got a Sydney Nanny when she was assigned to Australia just for the dogs to be looked after. Salukis are high maintenance dogs. You have to have a large space at your house where they can run and play. But they are easily taught and they abide commands at once. She even gives her pets dogs a walk in the park once a week. Her dogs sleep at her room so she has to change her bed covers every week but she never complains about it.

Every Christmas she gives Bambi, Buster and Blue some (the names of her Salukis) gifts. Her family is also very fond of them. The three of them are also considered part of the family. On time Blue had a skin allergy. It caused him very bad blisters around his body. Liz was very afraid that Blue would die so she rushed him to the vet. Fortunately the vet said that he has some allergies because of the dog food they are giving him. She immediately threw all of the old pet food and bought some new ones. Now every time when she buys some food for the dogs she consults the vet first. She always says “Well just having some precautions for them”.

Babies?

My cousin Andrei really love dogs. He has about a dozen of shitz zu puppies at his place. He loves his pets so much that half of his monthly salary goes to the dogs. You see Andrei is a chef and he is really earning a lot. He even sometimes cooks for his dogs. I remember one time he really doesn’t want to leave his dogs. He needs to enroll online at http://www.wci.edu/ just for his pets not to be alone. He really tries his best to go home early to feed his babies (well his babies are the dogs). Sometimes when he needs to go out of town, Andrei pays his neighbor to feed and look after the dogs.

When the dogs have an appointment to the veterinary Andrei has to file a leave at his work just to know if his pets are fine. What really costs him a lot are the anti-rabies shot for his pets. At especial occasions he dress-up his babies. They really are cute and cuddly once his babies are all dressed-up. He said that sometimes having a dozen of pet dogs is really a head ache. But each time he sees them he feels happy. Andrei gave one if his puppies to me and I treat my pet as my baby too. Now I see why he is very fond of them.

Holiday Present for Pets

December 2, 2007

After deciding to buy the htc touch which I saw from TestFreaks a couple of weeks ago as an early Christmas present for myself, I thought that my pet should also get a gift from me. Diana and Joe are my six month old hamsters and I’ve treated them as my babies ever since I got them from the pet store. They already had twelve babies since then but I decided to keep three of them and name them Francine, Jack and Mau. Now that the three babies are also growing up, it looks like they could really use a new cage.

Yesterday I went to a pet shop down town to look for a good cage for them. I saw a lot of cool cages there but there was a particular one that I thought would be perfect for them. For only fifty bucks, I got them a new hamster cage with long tunnels and loops that they could use for playing. This is one of the first gifts that I bought for my Christmas presents and I’ve spent good money on it. Though I’m all excited to give my presents to my pets, we all have to wait until the Christmas Eve before I could give it to them.

Pet Allergies

September 25, 2007

Is your cat grooming half her hair off or your dog licking his paws raw? It may well be your pet is experiencing allergies, one of the most common health problems for pets. Pets with these kinds of allergic symptoms can be pretty miserable creatures, and unfortunately they can’t be cured. Allergies are life-long, chronic problems. The good news is that there’s a lot you can do to help your animal “children” feel better. The best way to start is to find out what your pet is allergic to, so you can keep the allergen out of his environment. Animal allergies generally fall under one of four main categories.

  • Contact allergies
  • Food allergies
  • Inhalant allergy
  • Flea allergies

Whatever treatment decision you and your veterinarian come to, rest assured that the patience and determination it can take to treat allergies is well worth it. Though it may take some time and effort, you can help your itchy, grouchy pet feel comfortable again.
